Our Company History

Although Indiana Earth, Inc., got its official start in 1990, the business has been brewing in owner Mark Osler's mind, imagination, and life since he was a young boy sitting on his dad's lap in an excavator. Mark was raised in the dirt. He had a goal of starting his own business by the age of 25, and it is not surprising that Indiana Earth, Inc. was that business. He has been operating heavy equipment since his feet could touch the pedals of the backhoe. At the age of 24, Mark borrowed money to rent a backhoe, and Indiana Earth, Inc. was created. He earned enough money in that first month to continue renting the equipment until he had earned enough to purchase his first piece of equipment. In those days, Mark did not have a truck or a trailer, but he roaded his backhoe all over town going from job to job. Indiana Earth, Inc., has grown to be one of the largest excavation companies in the area with 40+ employees. Mark says that Indiana Earth, Inc.'s specialty is getting any job done for their clients. "We are one of the few contractors in northern Indiana who is as widely diversified in the kinds of work that we do." Mark's parents taught him to be a perfectionist in all that he does, and Indiana Earth, Inc. has been blessed by that spirit and attitude of excellence in hard work.
Mark Osler - President, Owner Mark Osler has never been afraid of a challenge (maybe that's why he has chosen such an eclectic batch of employees). Coaching and training just seem to be something that Mark has always been good at. When Mark's 3 kids were younger, he was often on the sidelines coaching and training his kids in various sports. Now, Mark can be found on the job site or in the office coaching and training his employees to insure that the job is always completed on time and to his high standards. When Mark isn't at work, you can generally find him involved with something that has a motor. From helicopters to jetski's and boating, Mark is all about the thrill. Mark has a big heart for animals and nature.
